5 Signs Your Website Needs a Redesign

Published September 5, 2026

A website doesn't announce when it's gone stale — it just quietly stops working as hard for your business. Here are five signs it's time for a redesign.

1. It's not mobile-friendly

If visitors have to pinch and zoom to read your site on a phone, you're losing them before they see what you offer — and Google ranks mobile-unfriendly sites lower to begin with.

2. It looks outdated next to your competitors

Design trends move. A site that looked current five years ago can quietly make a business look behind the times, even if the business itself isn't.

3. It's slow to load

Slow sites lose visitors and rankings both. If your homepage takes more than a couple of seconds to become usable, that's costing you.

4. It's hard to update or maintain

If changing a price, adding a page, or updating a photo requires calling a developer every time, the site is working against you instead of for you.

5. It's not generating enquiries

Ultimately, a website's job is to do something — generate leads, sales, bookings, or credibility. If it isn't, that's the clearest sign of all that something needs to change.
